So, since some friend were asking, here is a little trip report of my thoughts on the many new coasters I rode this weekend.
Cedar Point :
Blue Streak - I LOVED this coaster. Not only is it a classic coaster, but it was loaded with good airtime. It did not disappoint.
Cedar Creek Mine Ride - Very good for a mine train coaster. I enjoyed it.
Corkscrew - I had heard so many bad things about this, but I actually liked it. It's by far not in my favorites, but I didn't think it was too bad. I especially liked the bunny hop before the loop.
Gatekeeper - My first wing rider. What an amazing ride. I definitely liked the experience and look forward to riding another wing rider in the future.
Gemini - This one caught me by surprise. I really wasn't expecting much from Gemini, but it really is a fun ride. I preferred the blue side.
Iron Dragon - Another coaster that I had heard a lot of bad things about. I thought it was fun. It was also my first Arrow suspended coaster.
Magnum XL 200 - Since I love Phantom's Revenge so much, I was really looking forward to riding another Arrow hyper. I absolutely LOVED this ride. The airtime was so good.
Maverick - This was my favorite coaster at the park, however that might have something to do with the fact that my first and only ride on it was a night ride. The first drop, the intensity, and the mid course launch. There was nothing about this coaster that I didn't love.
Mean Streak- I really didn't think this was as bad as people make it out to be. It was very rough, and it wasn't the best experience because I had a slight headache before I got on. I think had I not had the headache, I would have enjoyed it more. I rode in the front seat, which offered an amusing ride. Even though the trim brakes on the first drop ruin the drop, I couldn't help but laugh at the awkwardness of feeling the train hit both of them on the way down. The layout on this coaster is amazing, it truly deserves some TLC to make it a little smoother. It has the potential to be a fantastic ride.
Millennium Force - What an amazing coaster. While it may not pack my favorite element (airtime), the elements it did supply were still amazing and I really enjoyed soaking up the speed.
Raptor - I was never a huge fan of Inverts before riding Raptor. I liked them, but outside of Volcano, none of them really stood out to me. Raptor was probably the biggest surprises of the day for me. I loved it.
Rougarou - I never got to ride this as Mantis, however, even as a floorless, I wasn't really impressed. The first drop and loop were great, after that, it got a little too rough for me. I'm glad I rode this earlier in the day, because later on the one train valleyed after the mid course brake run, and it was down the rest of the day.
Top Thrill Dragster - I was so excited to ride this. Mainly because I wanted to have the comparison to Kingda Ka. While similar rides, TTD blows Ka out of the water. Better restraints, better placement, better view, and a more intense launch. What a kick ass coaster.
Wicked Twister - I wasn't sure what to expect from this ride. It was an awesome coaster. My only complaint is that it was over too quick.
On to Kings Island....
Adventure Express - I did not expect a mine train coaster to be so intense. This was way more fun than I expected it to be.
Backlot Stunt Coaster - I've ridden the one at KD, so this really wasn't anything new. It's fun, but I mostly rode it for the coaster credit.
Banshee - If I ever ride an inverted coaster that is better than Banshee, I will be surprised. This was such an amazing and intense coaster. Truly one of a kind.
Bat - I feel like I loved Bat way more than I should have. I really had a blast on it and wish I would have had time for a re-ride.
Beast- The Beast was everything I dreamed it would be. It immediately took my #1 wood spot. The night ride on it was the most amazing roller coaster experience I've had to date. I am officially in love with The Beast!
Diamondback - I liked Diamondback, but did find it to be a bit overrated personally. It was very fun, but nothing about it really stood out to me.
Firehawk - Another clone, I mostly rode it for the credit. While it's the same layout, I definitely prefer Batwing at SFA over Firehawk.
Flight Of Fear - Another clone. Fun ride, nothing special. While I felt it was better than KD's FOF, I still prefer the outdoor version.
Invertigo - Another clone, however this one made me happy. I always liked Two Face at SFA. I didn't find out they had removed it until it was too late. I had missed Two Face, so riding Invertigo was like saying hello to a friend I had not seen in some time.
Racer - While I prefer Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion, I still thoroughly enjoyed Racer. I don't think it's possible to not like this one.
Vortex - I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. While I thought the layout looked cool, I had heard so many negative comments about it. I really liked it. It is definitely better than any other arrow looper I've ridden.
